Wolves Aid logo

Wolves Aid has a long history of supporting community projects within the city boundaries and focuses on organisations or initiatives that have got themselves 'off the ground' and are now looking for the funding needed to really make a difference within their area of influence.

Most funding is geared towards helping organisations that support the positive development of community life through encouraging social inclusion amongst the disadvantaged and disabled, as well as promoting family life and the positive development of children within the city. Areas of support to date have included physical and learning disability, physical and mental health, plus social challenge and deprivation.

Wolves Aid prefers to deal with registered charities but is happy to consider applications from other 'not for profit' organisations operating with the community's interests in mind.

As Wolves Aid is designed to help those within the city of Wolverhampton, funding is generally not available for national charities or large, established fund-raising bodies.

Geography:

Wolves Aid is designed to help the people of Wolverhampton and the surrounding area. Therefore, applications are invited from registered charities or community groups based at an address with a WV postcode. Discretionary awards are available for qualifying organisations within South Shropshire, South Staffordshire and the wider Black Country.

The kind of funding available:

Funding is normally provided in one of three forms:

? 'One-off' awards for capital projects (e.g. the purchase of equipment or refurbishment of community facilities).
? 'Kick-start' awards aimed at helping an organisation launch a specific initiative (e.g. the launch costs for a new initiative).
? 'Multi-year' awards providing annual funding over an agreed period for community projects (e.g. a three year agreement to fund the annual running costs of a holiday activities programme for children).

The type, size and time period of an award is based on the perceived 'difference' that Wolves Aid support will make to the
project and its beneficiaries.

Examples of projects we cannot help include:

Animal welfare
Arts/heritage
Conservation/nvironment
Expeditions and overseas travel
General fundraising appeals
Individual and sports sponsorship
Large national charities
Mainstream education
Promotion of specific religions

Unsuccessful Applications
