Fans have wasted no time in snapping up Wolves' best ever official away kit which went on sale at the club's retail stores at Molineux and in Dudley Street this morning.

Both stores reported brisk business as supporters made the most of the first chance to get their hands on the impressive kit, the new 'Black to the Future' design manufactured for Wolves by Le Coq Sportif.

Pre-order sales were actually greater than the figure for the recently launched home kit, suggesting the shirt is destined to be one of the most popular ever to hit the market.

"It's a quality piece of kit," said Paul Insull from The Straits, who visited the club shop with his son and fellow season ticket holder Jamie.

"It is really quality material and I like the stitching which looks like a big improvement.

"I like the look of all black kit for sportswear, and I think it will look particularly impressive on a midweek night under the floodlights."

Anthony and Kathleen Hayes were buying the new shirt for their grandson, and were similarly impressed.

"I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to shirts but even so this is one that I really like," said Anthony.

"I'm sure it's something the young people in particular will enjoy and I know our grandson is looking forward to wearing it," added Kathleen.

Meanwhile the Wolves message will also be spread all the way back to Barcelona after Shropshire resident Derek Harris popped in for a kit with his son Rob and 14-month-old grandson Ollie.

"I suppose there is a certain other team to follow in Barcelona but while the family are visiting I just had to bring them in to see the ground and buy a shirt," said Derek.

"The new shirt certainly looks very striking and stood out as soon as we walked into the shop."

Wolves' Head of Retail Peter Pridmore has been delighted with the response from supporters.

"We're been very pleased with the reaction to the new kit and have had a lot of positive comments," said Peter.

"Pre-order sales were very high and business this morning has been brisk.

"We're looking forward to another good weekend of sales when hopefully more supporters will be able to get their hands on the new kit."

Both the Molineux and Dudley Street stores are open seven days a week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
