Foxes On Top
Leicester City 4 (C. King 3, A. King 26, Suppleton 68, Cox-pen 86)
Wolves 1 (Melbourne 62)
Wolves' reserves were always second best to Leicester City as they fell to a 4-1 defeat at Hinckley United's Marston's Stadium.
Jody Craddock made an early intervention to prevent Matty Fryatt from breaking through but the respite was brief as City moved into a third minute lead.
Graham Stack made a great save to turn behind a Fryatt header but the corner wasn't cleared and Ryan Beswick returned the ball into box for the unmarked Craig King to hammer home a low, angled shot.
Within a minute the Leicester pair combined again but this time King headed straight at Stack.
Wolves were struggling to make an impression as fog swirled around the ground and Craig King's drive across the face of goal wasn't too far wide of the far post.
In the 26th minute City moved into a two goal lead with a goal almost identical to the first. The cross again came from the left but this time Craig King was the provider with namesake Andy waiting unattended at the far post to fire home.
Ashley Hemmings looked to be in with a chance of reducing the deficit as he ran on to Mark Salmon's through pass but the referee had blown for offside before the young striker had slipped the ball into the net.
Then, from a Daniel Jones corner, Craddock got in a powerful header that flew into the arms of Leicester keeper Paul Henderson.
Half-Time; Leicester 2 Wolves 0
David Ijaha came at the start of the second-half in place of Hemmings.
Wolves enjoyed a little more of the attacking play in the early stages of the half and they finally broke through after 62 minutes following a mistake from City full-back Lee Cox.
His square pass to the keeper was intercepted by Liam Hughes who turned the ball back to Alex Melbourne (pictured) who lobbed into the vacant net.
But City restored their two goal advantage just six minutes later when substitute Ricky Sappleton cut in from the left and unleashed a terrific shot that flew into the top corner of Stack's net.
The Wolves' keeper made a great reflex save to deny Sappleton a second goal but he was beaten again four minutes from time when Cox converted a penalty after Peter Williams had fouled James Wesolowski.
