Two former Wolves stars will be taking collecting buckets through Wolverhampton city centre tomorrow afternoon in aid of a cancer charity.

Steve Kindon, who played 167 times for Wolves in the 70s, will be joined at Molineux by striking legend John Richards at 1.45pm before they embark on a walk from the ground, through the Mander Centre and to the Birmingham New Road near the bowling alley.

For JR the walk is a relatively short one compared to the 104 miles from Bolton's Reebok Stadium to Villa Park which the main party, including Steve, are taking part in.

The charity CANtreat is behind the walk. Its main purpose is to improve the environment for patients receiving cancer treatment in NHS hospitals.

Andrew Gartside, the son of the Bolton chairman Phil, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in December 2004. Thankfully, after chemotherapy treatment he is well on the road to recovery.

Andrew founded CANtreat and it was decided, before the fixtures for the new season came out, that a fundraising walk would take place from the Reebok Stadium to wherever Bolton's first away game was. It turned out to be Villa Park.

The party have been collecting all the way along the route and they will call in to Wolverhampton as they approach the final leg of their journey.

So, if you see Steve and JR in the town centre tomorrow - please give generously. If you can't make it and wish to make a donation, then the charity's  address is: CANtreat Limited, Laurel Farm, Reedgate Lane, Crowley, Northwich, Cheshire CW9 6NT.
