Back To Work
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake insists the Wolves squad have all come back "in good shape" as they returned to work at
The squad, who have already been in twice during the summer for fitness assessments, were involved in a double session on the first regular day of pre-season involving running, exercise drills and ballwork.
The three summer signings Sam Vokes, Richard Stearman and David Jones all met up with the entirety of the squad for the first time while Mark Davies was also back with the main group after finishing last season with injury.
There were two notable absentees - Karl Henry, who has had two wisdom teeth removed (click here for story) and Seyi Olofinjana, who has been allowed some extra time off having spent a large chunk of the summer break on international duty with
The summer programmes set by fitness coach Tony Daley have reaped their rewards with Sylvan insisting fitness levels amongst the squad are already looking positive.
"I feel very good," said the striker.
"We've had strict programmes through pre-season so the boys have come back fit.
"Speaking to the staff, they were generally pleased with how everyone has come back.
"So now, it's a case of get back to it, and work with the balls and get ready for the first game at Wrexham on July 12.
"Maintaining the levels of fitness isn't easy, and I don't think anyone finds it easy because we've just had our only real break.
"But, we're professionals and we have to remain that way and professionalism is the overriding factor.
"It can definitely be hard to motivate yourself on your own, but a lot of the boys have done it and come back in good shape."
The atmosphere around the training ground is already livening up after a few weeks which have been extremely muted by comparison.
"It's good to be back among the banter," added Sylvan.
"It's also good to get away from it for a little while and totally relax and see your family.
"But it's good to get back into it because the boys are great and it's been good to catch up with them to hear the stories of their holidays."
