Plans are being formulated to upgrade Molineux to a 40,000 capacity venue.

Chairman Steve Morgan has held initial talks with chief executive Jez Moxey about rebuilding and expanding the ground.

Speaking to last night's audience at the club's annual awards dinner, Steve said: "We have a ten year masterplan to develop the club. I want to see the crowd closer to the pitch so the opposition are terrified when they come to the ground.

"I think a hotel is also something we should be looking at. Jez and I are meeting with architects to see what we can do.

"I'm just the latest custodian of this great club. It's a wonderful, wonderful old club steeped in tradition and history.

"Now we want to kick on. We are all passing through but I want my reign to be remembered as successful."

Jez added: "We are still very much at the embryonic stages of any stadium development plans.

"But we are looking at options to improve fortunes both on and off the field and stadium development is an important part of that process."

Also in last night's speech, Steve talked of the counterproductive effect that the booing of players can have.

He said: "I can't thank you enough for making me feel so welcome. But I do wish the moaners would just sod off!

"Nobody reacts well to criticism so everybody please get behind the lads.

"I will be a bag of nerves on Sunday listening to the other results. It's been one of the most up and down emotional years of my life."
