Take It To The Wire
Mick McCarthy has challenged his team to take the season to the wire by beating Coventry at the Ricoh Arean tomorrow.
The boss is pleased that Wolves will be squaring up against a Sky Blues side who are also in need of points to make sure of their Championship status.
"We won't be looking at anyone else's results we've just got to go and try and win our game," said Mick.
"And it's not just between us, Ipswich and Palace. We've just got to try and win and then see where we are on Saturday night.
"The Plymouth game will be easier to prepare for if it means something.
"The last home game of the season is always important but we want to go into it wanting to achieve more than just points.
"I'm glad it's also a big game for Coventry. As we saw with Cardiff - they were a team far from not bothered but if they lost it wasn't going to hurt them. After we scored our first goal they had a spell of playing good football with no fear.
"I'm happy playing a team with something to gain and something to lose."
The boss insists tthat he row that blew up with Coventry over the potential transfer of Freddy Eastwood during January will have 'zero impact' on the game.
He added: "This game is important enough and doesn't need a side show."
Michael Gray returns to training today but Karl Henry and Dave Edwards will not be fit for tomorrow's game.
Andy Keogh has been selected for Ireland's under 21s squad playing in the Intercontinental Cup, which will take place in Malaysia from May 12 to May 25. The striker will be released from duty if Wolves are in the play-offs.
SEASON TICKET HOLDERS WISHING TO PRE-REGISTER FOR POTENTIAL PLAY-OFF TICKETS MUST RETURN THEIR FORMS TO THE TICKET OFFICE BY 1PM TOMORROW (SATURDAY APRIL 26).
