Mick McCarthy insists that Wolves will fight on despite the disappointment of losing to Black Country rivals West Bromwich this evening.

A single second half strike from Zoltan Gera was enough to secure a win for Albion that took them to the top of the Championship table.

In a thrilling encounter at Molineux, both teams created plenty of scoring opportunities.

The boss was confident that the strength of Wolves' performance will give the team a boost for the weekend's game at home to Ipswich.

Mick said: "It was a terrific match with both teams going forward and both having good chances. But they took one of them and we didn't.

"I'm proud of the way we played and we could have got something from the game.

"It could have been four-all instead of 1-0.

"But no one will want to hear whether we played good, bad or indifferent because we lost.

"I can't do anything about that now but we can do something on Saturday (against Ipswich).

"We will go into that game buoyant because of the way we have played tonight - and have been playing recently.

"There's no point being all sackcloth and ashes and thinking that the season is over because it starts again for us on Thursday when we are back in and preparing for the weekend.

"We mustn't let the hurt of tonight's result sour the next four games.

"I'm sorry for the fans who will have to listen to their neighbours giving them stick but we did everything we could to prevent that happening."

Wolves have a limited number of hospitality packages available at substantially reduced prices for the penultimate home game of the league campaign against Cardiff City (Tuesday 22 April).  For further details click HERE.
