New signing Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is hoping to get the goals to put Wolves' promotion ambition back on track.

The striker completed his move from Plymouth this morning, signing a four and a half year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old former Manchester United youngster is likely to be involved in tomorrow's game against Crystal Palace (KO 3pm, click here for ticket news).

He has scored 13 goals so far this season for the Pilgrims.

He says: "As soon as I heard about the interest I felt good about it.

"It's a good challenge for me at this stage of my career - I'm really relishing it.

"It was tough to leave Plymouth because I had a good time there. But I needed a fresh challenge and this is the one.

"When I came to look around it was a forgone conclusion.

"Now I just want to get started. I'll work hard for the team.

"Wolves want to get promoted and I want to be part of that.

"I'm a very ambitious person and I want to be playing in the Premiership. I think this is a step in the right direction.

"I'm fit and well, and ready to play. I hope to score goals that will get us up the league."

The new arrival takes Wolves' striker count to six, including Stephen Ward. Manager Mick McCarthy adds: "Sylvan adds strength to the squad.

"He's in a rich vein of form at the moment.

"He is strong and quick - a real threat in the box.

"Having been at Manchester United, he's been brought up well in terms of his footballing education.

"I can't play all of the strikers but it's a challenge to them all to be at their best - and the best will play.

"Nobody is going out but if someone asks to go because they are not involved we will deal with it then."
