Defender Darren Ward admitted that the failure to turn domination into goals could have proved costly to Wolves in their game against Barnsley.

The summer signing felt that the team had to work hard in the dying stages having been on top for much of the contest.

"We really should have had more goals because we dominated the game," he said.

"We made hard work of it in the closing stages because at 1-0 they are always going to be in with a chance.

"I think we should have held the ball up a bit more rather than going for the killer pass in those last few minutes, but we held strong and were quite resilient.

"Barnsley are up there in the table on merit and are a good side. They are not an easy team to beat but then few are in this League.

"But it was good to get the three points and have another clean sheet.

"And, if we keep playing as we have been doing then I think that we will be okay."
