Wolves 1 (Bothroyd 22) Bristol City 1 (Fontaine 27)
A highly competitive game of football saw Wolves take the lead through and excellent goal from Jay Bothroyd, midway through the first half, only to concede a soft equaliser a few minutes later.
Andy Keogh replaced Freddy Eastwood upfront in an otherwise unchanged side.
The game got off to a fast start with both sides playing open attacking football.
It was clear from the off that there would be a feisty battle down the channel between Michael Kightly and his former Wolves colleague Michael McIndoe.
Quarter of an hour in, Andy Keogh worked his way into the box but couldn't find enough space to turn and get a cross in for the ideally placed Bothroyd.
Minutes later, the striker chipped a ball into the box for Seyi Olofinjana, when he could have tried a shot, and missed his target.
Then Bothroyd tried a pass for Stephen Ward when again his was better placed to shoot.
At the other end Craddock intercepted a City attack and cleared a dangerous ball on 20 minutes.
Wolves took the lead on 22 minutes when City keeper Adriano Basso flapped at a S Ward header and the ball found Bothroyd whose low drive gave his side the advantage.
But the visitors drew level on 27 minutes when McIndoe floated a free-kick into the area and Liam Fontaine rose, unchallenged, to head the ball past Hennessey.
Two minutes later, Basso flapped again from a S Ward effort but recovered in time to make a save from Karl Henry.
Bristol enjoyed a good spell of possession before S ward broke and set Keogh away on a run. The Wolves striker did well to get into a shooting position then put the ball wide.
Henry raced into the box and delayed his shot, giving the Bristol defence time to catch up.
Half time: Wolves 1 Bristol City 1
A long-range shot from Marvin Elliott tested Hennessey and the Wolves keeper was at full stretch to make a good save.
Wolves were the slower of the two sides to get going but then hard-working Kightly went on a good run. He lost the ball but tracked back to reclaim it, much to the appreciation of the home fans.
On 65 minutes, Keogh was lucky not to get sent off when he lost the ball to the influential Marvin Elliott and then pulled the City midfielder over. After calming a mini-melee, referee Kevin Friend chose to produce a yellow.
Matt Jarvis replaced Bothroyd on 69 minutes.
Basso tipped the ball over the bar from a Bothroyd header following a Kightly corner.
The injured Kightly was replaced by Potter and Eastwood came on for S Ward with ten to go.
Wolves turned up the pressure but could not find the winner.
