Darren Ward is looking forward to his first game in the club's colours at Grays Athletic on Saturday (KO 3pm).

The defender, who signed from Crystal Palace last week, says he has settled in and has enjoyed training with his new team-mates.

"The sessions have been at just the right pace and I've really enjoyed them," he said.

"All the lads came back looking fit and I think that the manager and the staff acknowledged that - although we have still been working hard.

"Last week it was all about fitness, whilst the last few days have seen us working with the ball and getting our touch back.

"I'm looking forward to Saturday. Although I've not played at Grays before, it isn't far from where I live and I believe that it's quite a good set up.

"We will be taking the game as seriously as any even though it's a friendly.

"Very often these games can be played at a very high tempo as the opposition players will always want to do well against a League team.

"But it's going to be nice to pull on a Wolves shirt for the first time. I will have some of my family in the crowd and I'm looking forward to a good afternoon."
