Hull City 2 (Fagan 13, Elliott 75)

Wolves 0

HC A 2-0 defeat against Hull meant that Wolves had lost five consecutive away games and, to add to that bleak statistic, the Molineux team failed to register a goal in any of them.

Mick McCarthy made two changes for Wanderers' second visit to the KC Stadium with Charlie Mulgrew andDarren Potter coming in for Lewis Gobern and the suspended Seyi George Olofinjana.

Hull kicked-off attacking the end of the ground that housed over a 1,000 travelling supporters. And the Wolves' fans had a bird's eye view of Matt Murray touching over a Jon Parkin shot in only the third minute.

Parkin's game was destined for an early finish for just six minutes later he fell awkwardly following an aerial challenge and he was stretchered off to be replaced by Nicky Forster.

But the setback didn't put the Hull team off its stride and after Craig Fagan had fired over from the edge of the box, the Tigers moved into a 13th minute lead.

Danny Mills' free-kick was flicked on by Damien Delaney to Fagan who buried a low shot past Murray from eight-yards out.

Within a minute the damage could easily have been doubled but Forster headed over from close in after a well flighted cross from Delaney.

A corner from Rohan Ricketts was punched out by Bo Myhill to Karl Henry whose attempt at goal was deflected behind by a defender. This time Ricketts saw his flag-kick cleared by Mills.

There was a chance of an equaliser in the 31st minute when Leon Clarke pulled the ball back to Jamie Clapham but from the tightest of angles the Wolves man fired into the side netting.

Clarke was then fouled by Danny Coles 25-yards out from the Hull goal, in a central position, but Clapham's free-kick ran straight through to Myhill.HC

Gary Breen went into the book after a minor altercation with Mills whilst the pair awaited a Rohan Ricketts corner and, in stoppage time, Delaney was yellow carded for dissent.

Half-Time: Tigers 1 Wolves 0

Jemal Johnson was a half-time replacement for Clarke and Lewis Gobern came on for Mulgrew. Clapham, who had been playing in midfield, switched to left-back.

Wolves looked a far more potent force in the opening minutes of the half and when Johnson intercepted a backpass from Michael Turner, Myhill made a challenge that, had the striker gone down, could well have resulted in a penalty.

Jason Jarrett was booked after felling Gobern before Carl Cort just failed to make contact with Johnson's low delivery into the box.

HC Johnson glanced a header wide after a cross from Clapham but the Wolves pressure came to nothing and the home side increased their lead 15 minutes from time.

Fagan beat Clapham on the right-hand touchline and ran into the box before firing in a low cross that was rammed into the net by Stuart Elliott.

Jody Craddock went into the book for a challenge on Jarrett and Craig Davies became the final change for Wolves when he replaced Ricketts in the 80th minute.

Despite the setback of the second goal Wolves were still pushing forwards and Henry hit a rising drive over the bar from 25-yards.

But, committed to attack, there were gaps at the back and Fagan fired into the side netting after breaking from inside his own half.
