Stewart Bowls Over Molineux Crowd
Former England and Surrey cricket Alec Stewart was the special guest at Wolverhampton Wanderers' second 1877 dinner of the season last night.
Stewart, who scored 26,165 runs at an average of 40.06 per innings during a career that spanned two decades and 447 first class matches, entertained the 250 strong audience to a multitude of stories from his time in the game.
Comedian Austin Knight served up a perfect compliment to the evening with a hilarious show to end what was a tremendous night.
The event's chosen charity, Beacon Centre for the Blind, also received a sizeable donation from the club from the proceeds of the auction and raffle.
A big thank you to everyone who attended the evening,
The next 1877 dinner is a Premier League double-header with ex-England legends Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier taking centre stage for the evening.
