2007 is the 10th anniversary of the Prince's Trust Football Initiative, which was originally launched by HRH The Prince's of Wales in August 1997. The Football Initiative uses the appeal of the game and the practical support of professional football clubs to help young people on Prince's Trust programmes to succeed. In particular the initiative aims to boost the confidence, motivation and team working skills of young people and help them to gain new qualifications. The Football Initiative is supported by funding from the Premier League, PFA and Football Foundation and in ten years almost 11,000 young people across the country have benefited from the support of over 60 professional clubs.

Wolves are proud to help this work in the Black Country by offering support to young people taking part in The Trust's Team programme. Team is a 12 week course of personal development training delivered locally by City of Wolverhampton College. Team members work on projects in the community, spend a week at a residential activity centre, undertake work placements and get help planning for their future. During the course Teams visit Molineux for a tour of the stadium, take part in healthy lifestyles workshops and coaching sessions, get help with their fundraising activities and hold presentation events. They may even meet a player.
