MANAGER - MICK McCARTHY

Born in Barnsley, Mick made his debut for his hometown club as an 18-year-old defender before moving to Manchester City in 1983 for £200,000. He won his first of a grand total of 57 Ireland caps a year later. He moved north of the border in 1987 joining Celtic and helping them to the Scottish League and Cup double before, a year later, enjoying a brief spell with French club Lyons.

He returned to England, initially on loan with Millwall in 1990 and, the following year at the age of 32, he became Millwall's manager and led the Londoners to third spot in the First Division in 1994, narrowly missing out on promotion.

In 1996, he took over from Jack Charlton as the Republic of Ireland manager and he led the team to the 2002 World Cup Finals. McCarthy resigned the post in November 2002 having taken the Republic from 54th to 13th in FIFA's world rankings in just over five years.

Four months later he was appointed manager of a struggling Sunderland side that was relegated from the top flight at the end of the campaign. He took the Black Cats back up into the Premier League, as Champions, in 2005 but there followed an immediate return to the Championship and Mick left the Stadium of Light in March, 2006, when relegation looked a certainty.

He took over the managerial reins at Molineux the following July.

In his first season at Wolves, Mick took the club to the play-off semi-finals, losing 4-2 on aggregate to West Bromwich Albion.

ASSISTANT MANAGER - TERRY CONNOR

 Appointed as reserve team coach in the summer of 1999, Terry Connor was given the task of guiding the club's youngsters across the bridge that spans youth and senior football.

Leeds born, Terry saw action with Leeds United, Brighton, Portsmouth, Swansea City and Bristol City.

When his playing days were over, he became Football in the Community coach at Swindon Town. He moved to the same post at Bristol Rovers which is where he first linked up with John Ward who promoted him to coach.

When Ward moved from Rovers to Bristol City, Terry followed and the pair were back together at Molineux, until John's departure in 2003.

He continued to work under Mick McCarthy and took on first team coaching duties when Ian Evans stepped down from them in the 2007/08 season.

He was officially appointed as assistant manager at the start of the 2008/09 campaign.

FIRST TEAM FITNESS AND CONDITIONING COACH - TONY DALEY

Appointed 2007.

Birmingham-born, a successful decade as a player with Aston Villa saw Tony pick up a League Cup winners medal following the 1994 win against Manchester United, while Villa also twice finished as runners-up in the top division.

The pacey winger also earned seven England caps, including two appearances at the 1992 European Championshps.

He left Villa for Wolves, where injury affected his four years at the club before further spells with Watford, Walsall and Forest Green Rovers before hanging up his boots.

Having finished his playing career Tony studied for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Science at Coventry University, while at the same time working as fitness coach with Forest Green and also some of Aston Villa's young players, including Gabriel Agbonlahor.

On completing his degree Tony secured the position of fitness and conditioning coach at Sheffield United, where he spent four years before joining Wolves in the same position in September, 2007.

His attention to detail and meticulous fitness regimes quickly secured the respect of backroom colleagues and players alike as Wolves sought to develop a young and athletic squad.  Tony is now studying for a Masters in Applied Sports Science and Exercise, due to be completed in 2009.

DEVELOPMENT COACH - STEVE WEAVER

Appointed 2008.

Steve arrived at the club in July, 2008, in a new role to work specifically with the club's 18-21-year-olds.

The job involves aiming to bridge the gap between Academy and first team football in terms of helping prepare them for the senior level whilst also keeping a close eye on those loaned out to other clubs to further their development. 

Steve spent almost 20 years at Wrexham, initially as a player and then as a coach after his career was cut short by injury.  He headed up the club's Centre of Excellence and also spent a year as assistant manager before leaving in January, 2008. 

Prior to joining Wolves Steve enjoyed the opportunity of working for Manchester City's Academy and also carried out scouting duties for Blackburn. He possesses the UEFA Pro License coaching qualification and a degree in Sports Science.

CHIEF SCOUT - DAVE BOWMAN

Appointed 2006.

Dave Bowman has a working relationship with Mick McCarthy and Ian Evans stretching back almost 20 years.  

Dave  completed his full coaching badge at Lilleshall, before then landing a scout and assessor position at Barnsley under Allan Clarke.  It is there he first met Mick and Ian, and the trio stayed together when Mick landed his first managerial post at Millwall.

The same applied with Sunderland and the Republic of Ireland, whom Dave continued working for under the stewardships of Brian Kerr and Steve Staunton. 

It was therefore no surprise that Mick again turned to Dave when he landed the Wolves job in August, 2006. Dave boasts an extensive network of contacts at the highest level of the game in England and abroad, helped by his work as a network consultant with Nike.

HEAD OF MEDICAL DEPARTMENT - STEVE KEMP MSc, BSc (hons), GSR, Pg Dip (Manips), MCSP, SRP, MMACP.

Appointed February 2008

Steve returned to Wolves for his second stint at the club as Head of Medical Services in February, 2008. 

Prior to this Steve was Head Physiotherapist at Preston North End  while he has also worked as Head Physiotherapist with South Korean side Busan Icons and was Academy Physiotherapist at Leeds United.

Steve has two BSC degrees in Physiotherapy and Sport Rehabilitation, a Masters degree in the Science of Sports Injury and has just completed a postgraduate diploma in Manipulation.

CLUB PHYSIOTHERAPIST - ALAN PEACHAM BSc (hons), GSR, MCSP, SRP.

Appointed September 2006

Having qualified from Salford University in 2003, Alan started his career in football as Head Academy Physiotherapist at West Bromwich Albion. 

Following this he moved to Crystal Palace to work with the first team squad. Alan joined Wolves in September, 2006, to take up the position of Assistant Physiotherapist. 

Alan's role is to work closely with Steve Kemp in the prevention, assessment and treatment of all injuries at the club. Alan oversees all reserve team games as well as assisting at all first team games.

CLUB DOCTOR - DR MATTHEW PERRY MB, ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, MSc (Warwick), MSc (Bath), MFSEM.

Appointed 2001.

Matt joined Wolves as Academy doctor in 2001/2 and the first team the next year. He also works as a GP in Albrighton Medical Practice.

He attends training two mornings a week, travels with the team and attends all first team games, home and away.

He has a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine and last year worked with the England Under 19 team.

Matt grew up in Albrighton and went to his first Wolves game aged seven in 1965.

He has been going regularly since and if he wasn't sitting on the bench would be with his family in the South Bank. His roles involve managing on field emergencies, treating injuries as well as looking after the general health needs of the senior players and screening examinations for new players.

HEAD MASSEUR - MARK JAMES Btec Level IV, MSMA

Appointed 2005

Mark has over 20 years experience working as a masseur, and has been involved in Professional Football for over 13 years.

Mark has previously worked at Arsenal, where he was part of the double winning squad of 1997/1998, and with the England squad during Euro 96.

Mark then went work with David Platt twice more, on the Nottingham Forest backroom staff in 1999 and later with the England under-21 squad.

He has also had part time roles at Northampton and Hull before starting at Wolves in June 2005. He is a key member of the medical team working closely with the first team squad both as a masseur and a rehabilitation specialist.

MASSEUR - MATT WIGNALL

Appointed 2005.

Matt is now in his third s season at Wolves and works with the senior squad for training and pre-match preparation. Matt also has over seven years experience working within the health and fitness industry as a fitness instructor and personal trainer.
