Preparing For Charlton
Wolves' youth team will be without Danny Batth for tomorrow's FA Youth Cup third round game against Charlton (Molineux - KO 7pm).
The central defender (pictured) was taken to hospital after dislocating his shoulder five minutes in to Friday's match against Manchester City.
The game at the Blues was brought forward by 24 hours to give both teams more time to prepare for their respective cup matches.
Wolves lost 1-0 to the top of the table side but put in a strong performance and created enough chances to have earned at least a point.
Wanderers started well with Fabruce Kasiama crossing for Marcel Tulloch to fire just wide.
But City took the lead on ten minutes after a counter attack led to Tom Spalding conceding a penalty.
Wolves came close to equalising just before the break when David Ijaha and Kyle Bennett exchanged passes and Ijaha headed just wide.
James Davis came on at the start of the second half and was quickly into the action, passing two defenders and crossing for Tulloch to shoot just wide.
Billy Lumley was kept busy in the Wolves goal as City enjoyed a spell. The keeper was tested on two occasions but made good saves to prevent the hosts extending their lead.
In the closing minutes Ijaha again went wide, this time from a shot at close range.
"Overall we deserved to take something from the game," said coach John Perkins.
"We played well against a very good side who are top of the table.
"The boys trained Sunday and are in again today to prepare for the Charlton match.
"We have done our homework on the opposition and hope to put in a well organised performance tomorrow at Molineux.
"We will be without Danny, although his shoulder was popped back into place and he should be ok to play again soon."
